Patrick Bartley with Texins Jazz Band and Berkner HS Jazz Band

Don’t miss one of the hottest young saxophone players around. You’ll be enamored with his beautiful tone, and amazed at his technical skill. He’ll be performing with two full big bands. Saxophonist Patrick Bartley is a GRAMMY-nominated saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, and bandleader known for his boundless versatility, virtuosic technique, and expressive and beautiful tone. Patrick is a musician with experience in a wide range of situations, from appearing on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert to being featured in the Emmy-nominated HBO special Wynton Marsalis: A YoungArts Masterclass, which premiered at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Although a South Florida native, Patrick is a has spent the majority of his professional music career in NYC prior to graduating from the Manhattan School of Music. As an on-demand sideman, he has performed and recorded with musicians such as Louis Hayes, Jonathan Batiste, Mulgrew Miller, Jeff Coffin, and Wynton Marsalis, and has performed at world-renowned venues such as The STAPLES Center, Madison Square Garden, and the Black Sea Jazz Festival.

Texins Jazz Band is a full 18-piece community big band based in Dallas, TX. The band is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1986 at Texas Instruments in Dallas. The majority of band members have STEM-based degrees and careers (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). Texins Jazz Band is funded in part by the City of Richardson through the City of Richardson Cultural Arts Commission.

The Berkner High School Jazz Band will open the show and perform with Patrick as well.
